Privacy policy

Congrats on being someone who reads privacy policies. Here's what this site collects, why, and what happens to it.

Last updated October 30, 2026.

Multicomma is an independent practice run by Dan Reed. This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].

What I collect

When you send a message or a project brief. The contact form asks for your name, email address, the services you're interested in, your budget, your timing and what you'd like to achieve. The onboarding questionnaire asks for your business name, your name, your email address and your answers to its questions. I only receive what you choose to type.

When you browse. Like most websites, the site and the services it relies on record technical details such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit. Google Analytics uses this to count visits and see how the site is used (see Cookies below).

I don't ask for payment details, and I don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

How I use it

  • To read and reply to your message or brief, and to follow up about a project you asked about.
  • To send you a copy of what you submitted, so you have it for reference.
  • To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
  • To keep the site secure and protect the forms from spam.

I don't sell your information, rent it out, or use it for advertising. I won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be added.

Who else handles it

A few services help run the site. Each only gets what it needs to do its job:

  • DigitalOcean hosts the site and stores form submissions, on servers in the United States.
  • Postmark delivers the emails the forms send: the notification to me and the copy to you.
  • Cloudflare delivers the site quickly and protects it from attacks. Its Web Analytics counts visits without cookies.
  • Google Analytics measures how the site is used.

I may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and its visitors from fraud or abuse.

Cookies

This site doesn't set cookies of its own for visitors. Google Analytics sets cookies (named "_ga" and "_ga_" followed by an ID) to tell new visits from returning ones. They don't identify you by name. You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out add-on.

How long I keep it

Messages and briefs are kept for as long as they're useful for our conversation or a project, and for ordinary business records after that. Google Analytics keeps its data for the period set in its settings. You can ask me to delete what you've sent at any time.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email [email protected] and I'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and I'll honour them.

Keeping it safe

The site is served only over encrypted connections, form submissions are stored on a secured server, and only I can see them. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable care to protect what you share.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
